BfG hosted the Supersites /Commons/ 6th Steering Committee meeting on March 20.-23. 2018 in Koblenz


After the Supersites workshop the German Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) hosted a two days DANUBIUS-Commons Workshop as part of the “Preparatory Phase for the Pan-European Research Infrastructure DANUBIUS-RI” project. At the beginning, Dr. Birgit Esser, head of BfG welcomed 40 Participants from 14 European countries. The welcome speech was followed by a guest lecture given by Prof. Dr. Henning Pätzold from the University of Koblenz-Landau.

The DANUBIUS-RI Commons cover scientific and administrative rules and standards for running the Research Infrastructure with an envisaged start of operation in 2020. BfG is the lead partner for the elaboration of the Commons in cooperation with the University of Stirling. The workshop started with a summary of the draft version on “DANUBIUS-RI principles and Commons”, given by Dr. Lars Duester from BfG. Afterwards, the participants were asked to contribute to the DANUBIUS-RI Principles and Commons within four thematic groups. The results were presented and discussed on the following day and will now be included into an updated version of the Principles and Commons.

The workshop was followed by the 6th meeting of the DANUBIUS-PP Steering Committee meeting.
