9th EUROLAG Conference on Coastal Lagoons and Transitional Environments, Venice

January 2020

The Institute of Marine Sciences (ISMAR) of the Italian National Research Council, the Consortium for Lagoon Research (CORILA), and the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari jointly organised the 9th EUROLAG conference devoted to science, research and management issues related to lagoons and transitional areas, which took place on January 20-24 in Venice.

EUROLAG9 featured several environmental research infrastructures covering transitional and coastal environments, including DANUBIUS-RI. Sina Bold (Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, Institute of Coastal Research, Germany) presented DANUBIUS-RI based on the recently published Science & Innovation Agenda in a keynote lecture. DANUBIUS-RI was also represented with a booth at the conference informing about DANUBIUS-RI and its services.

Every day opened with a keynote lecture from another environmental research infrastructure, such as LifeWatch-ERIC, eLTER and EMBRC-ERIC. Representatives of these four environmental research infrastructures have also come together during EUROLAG9 to discuss how to collaborate in transitional and coastal environments in the future.
